NNAF News Fellow program seeks candidates for 2014
Dec 13, 2013
Elizabeth K. Parker, president of the National Newspaper Association Foundation, has announced the opening of the 2014 NNAF News Fellows Program.
Fellows are college journalism students who will be invited to Washington on sponsorships from their state newspaper associations and NNA during the 2014 We Believe in Newspapers Summit.
Their assignment is to cover a current events topic from the viewpoint of hometown readers. Their exercise is news literacy training, gaining skills under the tutelage of experienced community newspaper journalists in distinguishing facts from opinion and “spin.”
More information about the News Fellows program is available here.
The Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, based in Oklahoma City, OK, has agreed to sponsor part of the 2014 program. Parker said, this is a great first step to enabling the foundation to bring young journalists to the Nation's Capital.
Please consider a gift to NNAF this year to contribute to the support of this important program.
